Students are not allowed to bring any valuable items into the school. These include AirPods, headphones, digital cameras, smart watches and any other personal entertainment equipment.
The success of this policy not only depends on our students acting sensibly but also on the support of our parents. All parents are expected to support the school over this important matter.
Please note that the use of smart watches, AirPods and headphones will be covered by the same procedures set out above.
Students needing to contact parents in an emergency should report to Reception where they are able to use the school phone. Students who contact their parents directly from their own mobile phone without permission will be sanctioned accordingly.
Please note that mobile phones and all other electrical/digital equipment that are not handed into Reception remain the sole responsibility of the student. The School is not and will not be responsible or liable for any damage, loss or theft to the equipment. The school cannot be held responsible for any personal property lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed.
All property brought into school must be clearly labelled. This includes uniform, shoes and equipment.
If a student loses anything, they should go to the Library where lost property is stored.
All unclaimed items will be disposed of at regular intervals after a certain period of time. The PE Faculty also holds lost property for a limited period.
Forgotten Items
It is not possible for office staff to reunite students with forgotten items during the school day apart from in the very first few weeks of Year 7. We encourage students to be responsible and prepared for the next day by packing and checking their bags each evening. Please, therefore, avoid contacting reception for this reason from October onwards.
Parents will be notified on each separate occasion when their child will leave the school premises for educational day trips. For sports matches, however, it is the responsibility of the child to let parents know that they will be involved in fixtures after school or at weekends.
We do, therefore, need to receive your consent for your child’s involvement in sports fixtures and your acknowledgement that a separate notification need not be sent to you on each occasion that such sporting activities are undertaken whilst your child remains at Croxley Danes.
Please complete the consent on the Arbor Parental Portal once you have received your welcome email from Arbor with your login information.
On some days, Year Groups will be combined for assemblies; on other days there are Year Assemblies or Form Time. The majority of assemblies are non-denominational and include outside speakers in addition to delivery by senior and other staff in school. Where they have a religious element, the school ensures all religions are represented and faith or non-belief is presented as a matter of personal choice. Students also participate in assemblies. Parents have the right to withdraw children from religious assemblies by notifying the Headteacher in writing.
